Soccer Teammate App Reviews

Ive downloaded countless soccer apps looking for one that meets my needs as a youth soccer team manager. As a manager, I need to track player time and significant events (goals, assists, etc.) Ive got a paper system that Ive used for a number of years but Ive searched for an app to do this for me. Lots look promising but require too many taps to do the simplest function. Soccer Teammate is different - it simply works and it works simply. I can place my players on the field (my starting line-up) by dragging them onto the screen. I can adjust the formation (4-4-2, 4-3-3, etc.) by simply moving the shirts/players on the screen. Start the game clock and record significant events during the game by tapping the player and then selecting the event from a list (shot on target, shot off target, save, goal, etc.). Substituting players? Just drag the player off the bench onto the field to the position/player they are replacing and the sub is recorded (along with the time). All with a game clock running in the background. I can summarize stats during or after the game. I can tabulate stats by competition type (league, friendly, cup, tournament). Soccer Teammate will be my constant companion on the touchline this summer! Well done!

Awesome app all around. Best one Ive found so far to be used for game subs and stats tracking. Very intuitive when doing subs, clean interface while still providing lots of data. Would be nice to have a chalkboard feature, but I can do without it. The only this that is really frustrating is that the formation is set upside down. Maybe some people like it but it always confuses me when I have goalie at the top, strikers at the bottom and subs at the bottom. Would give it a 5 out of 5 if option to rotate formation was added.

Output data for player, game, or season is lacking. I have requested this. I have tried 5 to find what this app can do on the fly during the game. It is very good.

Only soccer app that allows you to put player names on the field instead of numbers!!! And so much more! Definitely worth the money!!! I also agree with previous reviews for improvements!

Great job so far and if the recent updates are any indication of the ability to respond to the intuitive needs the app demands as more users kick it around and provide feedback, then the sky is truly the limit. Just as important, Ive tried all the others - they werent close and now theyre losing ground. Future updates should focus on team and roster management. For example - Ive entered 2 lineups for my U10s 2-3-2, "starters" and "reserves" - perfect to make sure my kids have time at their primary positions during the match. Only problem is the number of clicks getting to one formation and then switching to another. ***It would be great to link a formation and multiple lineups to scheduled games. With respect to team management, I like that there is some type of SMS game schedule/results and reporting feature. ***It would be good to have a basic player contact feature similar to the coach, at least including cell ph and email.

Is there any plan to enhance the reporting and graphics of the Stats Report to be more user friendly. Improvement to show Player and Team States graphically and/or DataSheet View by Match would be wonderful. The ability to drag and drop substitutions and allowing MULTIPLE substitutions with in the game is WONDERFUL! Ability to Drag and Drop lineup change is also a GREAT Feature.

After using the Soccer Dad app all of these other soccer coach apps seem terribly incomplete and lacking in graphic appeal. Unfortunately the developer has abandoned Soccer Dad. So why doesnt one of these developers get smart and simply copy the functionality of Soccer Dad? As long as they continue to support it they will have a ready-made audience full of 5 star reviews. And they could easily charge $5 for the app if they do it right. As it is, apps like this one are way more trouble than they are worth.

Wether you coach high school, club soccer or recreational soccer teams this app is a must have. Its great for planning schemes, setting line ups, keeping track of subs and pretty much anything you would want as a coach or manager.

Been using this for two years now! Love the ability to plan the lineup and record stats on my iPhone. I really appreciate the improvements.

Ive always given this 4 stars bc I needed to track the location of goals, now that is possible!!! Wonderful, this will be my 4th HS season to use it, cant wait to get started!

Ive tried multiple soccer apps for tracking rosters and stats and this is by far the best. Very intuitive to use with great team and individual features. Customer service and support has also been fantastic!

Unfortunately, the recent upgrade crashes whenever I try to add games or advance to the next game. So sad - really enjoyed this app!

Go-to coaching app, ive used this to track over 120 of my youth games, its simple/easy to customize but also has a ton of features/extras for such a light weight app. Some of my favorites are - stats and stat sorting (to basically anything) and share via xls/imessage/twitter etc. - live tweet individual events (shot, goal etc.) while using app. - simple database backup & dropbox support. RATE 98/100.

I track every game, minute, position each player plays with this app. Very useful when I get questions about playing time. To the point now I just publish my own stat recap. No more questions. Also track many other stats. The UI can be a little frustrating at times but all in all I can’t watch games without this tool anymore. Thank you!

Got the app several weeks ago before our season began and had a few questions about it. For some reason my email wouldn’t work for the developer so he took the time to find me on LinkedIn and reached out to me to make sure I was taken care of! Awesome move going that extra mile! I’ve had a chance to use it for 3 games now and it’s so much easier than notes on paper. Give it a try, I think you’ll be pleased!

I found this application and have begun tracking players and stats. This is a must have app for anyone including parents who are looking to keep records of matches. User friendly and packed full of features. The developer response to a question I had was specific and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this app.

I’ve been looking for a replacement for the app I was using as it’s no longer supported. Need an app that’s simple enough to use so that I can hand it off to someone else during the match as needed without needing huge amount of instruction. Checks the boxes I was needing: Manage multiple teams, track team and individual stats, track playing time (easily), able to see the info easily during the game, various views of the data (ind, team, game.) Could there be some additional items but it gets the job done. However, the thing that stand out the most is the support - incredible! Submit a question and get a genuine response from the developer with suggestions / solutions to what you were struggling with. That alone has me wanting to make this my go to app as I would love to replace my other apps that each do something well. In summary, if you’re looking for a simple to use app that is VERY reasonably priced, gets the job done and has support behind it (when/if needed) this is the app to help manage your soccer matches.
